I began making jewelry as a form of therapy after I suffered a massive brain aneurysm rupture. To read my full story please check out my blog page as it goes into much more details about that one day that changed not only my life forever but my entire family. What got me to start making handmade beaded jewelry is that I lost all fine motor skills and had no feeling in my fingers or hands as well as double and blurry vision. I started making small beaded jewelry pieces for therapy to help with my fine motor skills and eye sight and found I truly loved it and my jewelry making has begun to grow from there. My mission is to raise brain aneurysm awareness as well as raise money for research and treatments for this silent and deadly disease. Raising awareness and hope one bead at a time! I have learned that whatever life throws at me I need to accept it and learn to adapt. The doctors did not think I would even survive and here I am making jewelry to raise awareness and hopefully help to make sure this does not happen to someone else. I am not the same as I was and unfortunately have some permanent damage but since I can not do most things I once loved to do I spend most of my free time creating beatiful handcrafted jewelry.
There is so little research on Brain aneurysms and most are not found until they rupture. Survival rates are very low but I survived. I have two more in my brain that need surgery on so they do not rupture and may never be able to do many of the things I once did. But that is OK because I am now dedicating my time to raising awareness and money for research and treatments. The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is the only organization that is dedicated to this condition and it is my goal and life passion to help in any way I can.
Thank you for your support! I am a brain aneurysm SAH survivor and fighter. By purchasing one of my handcrafted products you are not only supporting my fight against this condition but you are supporting brain aneurysm awareness and the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. I make these items to raise awareness and HOPE to others and with every sale I will donate 20% to the Brain Aneurysm Foundation. "The Brain Aneurysm Foundation is the world's only nonprofit organization solely dedicated to providing critical awareness, education, support and research funding to reduce the incidence of brain aneurysm ruptures."Hopefully one day there will be a cure and better treatment options.
I also have a blog page above where I will blog about my journey of survival and recovery as well as my new journey creating jewelry and other handmade items to help raise awareness and hope! Feel free to join the conversation in the forum area as well. Membership is free and the forum is a wonderful community of other survivors and people who enjoy making handcrafted jewelry and other handmade products. I look forward to meeting you there soon!
